DO I NEED TO HAVE SAILING EXPERIENCE TO PARTICIPATE?

No previous sailing experience is required. A sailing cruise is suitable for everyone, the important thing is to have a spirit of adventure, good adaptability, and pleasure in being with others. And if you have the desire or desire to collaborate, learn or participate in the maneuvers on board, under the supervision of the skipper, you are welcome! 

 

 

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO PARTICIPATE?

There is no age limit, if you are a dynamic person, easily adaptable, you like coexistence, you are collaborative, eager to share spaces and emotions with other people, but above all you love the sea, nature and simplicity, then this it's your ideal holiday!

IS IT NECESSARY TO BOOK THE WHOLE BOAT?

It is not necessary to book the entire boat, unless it is an explicit request from the guests. It is possible to participate alone, as a couple or in a group. The skipper will be responsible for assigning you a place in the cabin and coordinating with you the sharing of this with another guest

HOW DO I GET TO THE PORT OF BOARDING?

EGADI ISLANDS: search for flight on Trapani or Palermo -> Transfer to the Port of Trapani (Bus, Shuttle or Taxi);

AEOLIAN ISLANDS: Option 1 -> Search for flights to Palermo -> Transfer to Palermo Port (Bus, Shuttle or Taxi) - > "Liberty Lines" hydrofoil to the Port of Lipari  / Option 2 -> Search for flights to Catania -> Transfer to the Port of Milazzo (Bus, Shuttle or Taxi) - > "Liberty Lines" hydrofoil to the Port of Lipari;

HOW DO WE ORGANIZE THE GALLEY?

The day before your cruise, the Skipper will organize a chat with the crew where you. you will receive an updated list of food and drinks to purchase for the galley, based on supplies already on board from previous cruises. You will have the freedom to modify this list according to your preferences and eating habits. The list will be sent online to the local supermarket and the galley will be delivered on board on the day of embarkation, generally immediately after the welcome aperitif.

IF I AM A TEETLER, DO I HAVE TO PAY THE GALLEY ALCOHOL ?

No, the cost of alcoholic beverages purchased with the galley will be split only among those who consume alcohol on board.

IN CASE OF ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS?

If weather conditions force cruise passengers to remain in port (at the total and unquestionable discretion of the Skipper), not allowing part of the planned itinerary to be carried out, the Skipper will do his best to organize alternative activities on land, which will be totally crew load

All guests on board will take turns preparing food, setting the table, clearing the table and cleaning the dishes. However, be aware that the Skipper generally enjoys cooking and taking care of his guests! Always consider it a gift that is offered to you and not an obligation ;)

WHAT IS THE RATE FOR A DOUBLE CABIN FOR SINGLE USE?

If you would like a double or twin cabin for single use, or an exclusive bathroom, contact the skipper to receive an ad hoc offer

 

HOW DOES THE COMMON FUND WORK?

Mooring costs in ports/marinas/buoy fields, taxes for access to natural reserves (where required), diesel (hourly consumption 10L/hour), and galley (drinks and food, including those of the Skipper), all of these Extra items, amount overall to a weekly expense of approximately €200-€250 per person, which will be entirely managed by the crew's common fund.

CAN CHILDREN GET ON BOARD?

All children of any age, who are independent when toileting, and who no longer use a diaper for their needs, are very welcome on board. However, it is necessary to ask the other participants if they like them. Or form a group with other children; we are often asked. Another possibility is to book the entire boat. If you send an email with the request to participate in a cruise for families with children or cruises for children only, it will be easier for us to form a group.

Quando siamo attraccati in porto, avremo accesso all'elettricità a 220 volt, simile a quella domestica, permettendoci di utilizzare e ricaricare tutti i nostri dispositivi elettronici come a casa. Invece, quando saremo ancorati in rada, disporremo solo di prese da 12 volt con uscite USB o USB-C, adatte per ricaricare cellulari, tablet e fotocamere digitali. Non dimenticate di portare i vostri cavi di ricarica USB.

WHAT IS USELESS TO BRING?

The hairdryer, the straightener or the epilator, firstly because we have them on board, and secondly because they can only be used with 220 volt electricity (the home electricity) only when we are in port. Trolleys and hard suitcases cannot be taken on board as there is not enough space to stow them. Carry your luggage in a soft, foldable and easily adjustable bag.

WILL I SUFFER SEA SICK?

Sognare una vacanza in barca, ma temere il mal di mare, è comune. Tuttavia, la paura è spesso infondata: pochi ospiti lo sperimentano e solitamente solo il primo giorno. WHAT SHOULD I PUT IN MY TRAVEL BAG?

Here is a list of essential items to bring: t-shirts, shorts, trousers, sweatshirt, windbreaker, hat. On the boat you walk barefoot, but include comfortable shoes for walking on land. Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Bring your toiletries, bath towel, personal medicines, seasickness tablets, and identity card. Don't forget your swimsuit, beach towel, dry bag, charger and power bank.

HOW ARE CREWS FORMED?

It is not always easy to organize a homogeneous group, but don't worry about this, generally we always manage to form a well-assorted crew in terms of age and holiday expectations. For couples we will form groups of couples, for friends it will always be the same, ditto for singles and families with children. When booking, ask the Skipper.

IS TRAVEL INSURANCE NECESSARY?

Our boats are covered by RC and Kasco insurance for damages to third parties. However, even if none of our guests have ever had problems, travel insurance costs around 4/5 euros per day and Europe Assistance is one of the most suitable for those who travel and go on holiday.
